Welcome to Eider Duck Class!
A warm welcome to our Eider Duck Class page. We are so excited to share all the wonderful things happening in Year 2 this year. In Eider Duck Class, we love to learn, explore, and challenge ourselves every day.
Our class teachers are Mrs Parker, who teaches on Mondays, and Mrs McGirl, who teaches for the rest of the week. We are also very lucky to have Miss Joynson with us every day as our fantastic teaching assistant. Together, we make a great team, helping every child to grow in confidence and enjoy their learning.
PE
Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. They will need their P.E. kit in school at all times as there are often extra opportunities to get outside and get active. In the winter plain black leggings/ joggers and a jumper are useful as we will still be going outside weather permitting. Please can you make sure that all items are labelled. Thank you.
Reading
Reading is a very important part of Year 2 learning. We recommend that children read at home at least three times a week to help develop their fluency, understanding, and love of books. Please remember to sign your child’s reading record and remind them to put it in the reading record basket each morning.
Library
The children will be able to choose a new book from the KS1 Library every Monday.
Communication
Please feel free to catch a member of the Eider Duck team if you have any queries or concerns however big or small. You are more than welcome to have a quick word at the beginning or end of the day. Or, if a longer appointment is necessary, you can arrange this through the school office.
